The first college in Switzerland to offer an English Year 10 programme.
Students are able to sit the British university entrance examinations (International GCSE/International A levels) on the school premises and in external venues. The assessment of scripts is done centrally in the UK by Edexcel International and CIE which issue the final certificates. For more information please visit:

Hull’s School offers a range of access arrangements (referred to as compensatory measures in the Swiss system) to support students during examinations. These arrangements are tailored to address specific difficulties a student may experience and include options such as 25% extra time, the use of noise-cancelling headphones or a laptop, supervised rest breaks, or sitting examinations in a smaller room with fewer candidates. Access arrangements are provided to students whose medical conditions or learning difficulties significantly impact their ability to learn or perform in an exam setting.
Examples include dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD, or ASD. The qualifications and examinations that Hull’s School students undertake (EC2 – IGCSE and EC3 & EC4 – IAL) are administered by Pearson Edexcel, a UK-based examination board.
Assessment
Some students may already have an existing assessment conducted by a Swiss specialist. If no such assessment exists and there is a possibility that a student may require accommodations, families have two options:
Families may choose to contact their GP to arrange an assessment with a Swiss specialist. In addition to the assessment, a comprehensive report in English is required. This report must outline the student’s needs, provide information from the diagnosis, and include feedback from both parents and teachers. We often refer our students to Foundations for Learning, an external organisation frequently recommended by Hull’s School, to prepare these reports.
Families may opt for an assessment directly with Foundations for Learning. This organisation is well-versed in the requirements set by Pearson Edexcel, and their reports meet the criteria for submitting an application to the exam board. These reports are essential, as Pearson Edexcel requires formal documentation to approve access arrangements such as extra time or other accommodations.
Please note that Foundations for Learning operates as an independent organisation, and their assessments involve a fee. Once Hull’s School receives the completed report, we will formally submit an application on the student’s behalf to Pearson Edexcel for the necessary accommodations.
