EC1 (English College Year 1)

Year 10 (English Lower Fifth Form)/English College Year 1 (EC1)

Hull’s school is the first college in Switzerland to offer an English Year 10 programme for both Swiss and international students. It is called Year 10 because the majority of students have completed Year 9 in the Swiss educational system before joining us. The programme is modelled on the UK Lower Fifth Form. All subjects are taught in English, with the exception of French and German. Successful students spend a further three years preparing for university entrance examinations (IGCSE and A levels).

Advantages of our programme:
  • Successful students can continue their studies for three additional years, during which they prepare for university entrance examinations (IGCSE, A levels).
  • We provide a motivating environment for young people who wish to learn.
  • The programme is suitable for students who have followed the Swiss Sekundarschule curriculum (Sek A).
  • The programme is suitable for students who have been educated at international schools or schools based on the UK curriculum in Switzerland or abroad (Upper Fourth Form).
  • Our classes are small (maximum 18 students).
  • Classes are taught in English by teachers committed to the success of their students.
  • Our modern language teachers are native speakers of the target language.
  • Our students earn internationally recognised certificates (Cambridge First, IGCSE French).
  • We provide academic and pastoral support.
  • We provide coaching in core subjects for students who need additional help.

I enjoyed and value the college at Hull's school for its profound education and the incomparable location in the heart of Zurich.
