James Cunningham grew up in Cork, Ireland. After finishing secondary school, he earned a B.A. in English and History, and subsequently a PGCE at University College Cork.
James taught at an international school in Tripoli, Libya for six years before joining Hull’s School in 2011.
After earning his M.A. in Education Leadership and Management at the University of Roehampton in London, he was appointed as Vice Principal in 2019 and as Principal in 2021.
