At Hull’s School we pride ourselves on our highly-qualified, highly professional teaching staff. Our teachers work together in a spirit of friendly, supportive collegiality and typically stay with us for the remainder of their careers. This gives our school stability and a long institutional memory, and these are important elements in the Hull’s School success story. But the real core of our success is simply this:

Our students tell us – time and time again – that it is clear to them that our teachers really and truly care about them.

We are a growing school with growing needs. If you are a teacher and you think Hull’s School might be a good fit for you, please send your application to {M0D40FCD05056804E04425EFF33D6D1BEO}{0D40FCF55056804E04117B7E514CAAE7}

Please be sure to include the following in your application:

  1. In the subject line of your email, your name and the subjects you consider yourself qualified to teach
  2. Cover letter (in English)
  3. CV (in English), listing relevant educational and professional experience and references, and also specifying the basis for your right to live and work in Switzerland (e.g. Swiss or EU citizenship, B-Visa, etc.)
Teaching at Hull’s School

Hull’s School teachers mostly prepare their students for International GCSE and/or A-level examinations (Pearson/Edexcel). Students who achieve sufficiently high marks on an appropriate combination of examinations qualify to attend some of the best universities in the world, among them Swiss, EU, American, Canadian and British universities (including Russell Group universities).

English classes also prepare students for the Cambridge English exams, especially the B2 First and C2 Proficiency (CPE) exams.

Our classes consist mostly of German-speaking Swiss students, aged 15 to 19, who complete a four-year programme at our school. Our maximum class size is 16 students.

All classes are conducted solely in English, except of course for foreign language classes.

To be considered for a teaching position, applicants must have:

  • Swiss, EU or EFTA citizenship, or a valid Swiss work permit

  • a Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in the subject to be taught, or a closely related subject

  • significant comparable teaching experience, as evidenced by appropriate references

  • teacher training (extent and duration negotiable, depending on experience)

  • fluency in English

  • native-speaker levels of proficiency in English, German or French (for language teachers)

Preference is given to applicants who are experienced in:

  • teaching to GCSE, IGCSE and/or A-level specifications

  • teaching subjects in English to students whose native language is not English

I enjoyed and value the college at Hull's school for its profound education and the incomparable location in the heart of Zurich.
