At Hull’s School we pride ourselves on our highly-qualified, highly professional teaching staff. Teaching at Hull’s School

Hull’s School teachers mostly prepare their students for International GCSE and/or A-level examinations (Pearson/Edexcel). Students who achieve sufficiently high marks on an appropriate combination of examinations qualify to attend some of the best universities in the world, among them Swiss, EU, American, Canadian and British universities (including Russell Group universities).

English classes also prepare students for the Cambridge English exams, especially the B2 First and C2 Proficiency (CPE) exams.

Our classes consist mostly of German-speaking Swiss students, aged 15 to 19, who complete a four-year programme at our school. Our maximum class size is 18 students.

All classes are conducted solely in English, except of course for foreign language classes.

To be considered for a teaching position, applicants must have:

  • Swiss, EU or EFTA citizenship, or a valid Swiss work permit
  • a Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in the subject to be taught, or a closely related subject
  • significant comparable teaching experience, as evidenced by appropriate references
  • teacher training (extent and duration negotiable, depending on experience)
  • fluency in English
  • native-speaker levels of proficiency in English, German or French (for language teachers)

Preference is given to applicants who are experienced in:

  • teaching to GCSE, IGCSE and/or A-level specifications
  • teaching subjects in English to students whose native language is not English
