Robin Hull, lic.phil. Dip. RSA
Robin Hull was born in Switzerland and grew up in an English-speaking family in the Zürich Highlands (Zürcher Oberland). After taking the Swiss Matura at Wetzikon Grammar School (Kantonsschule Wetzikon) and various GCE examinations (British university entrance examinations), he took a licentiate degree in German and English Philology at Zürich University and underwent training as a grammar school teacher.
He spent a number of years dividing his time between the Swiss army, rising to the rank of major, and working at his father's school as a part-time teacher and manager.
When his father, Dr. James Hull, retired from the school at the end of 1989, he took over responsibility for Hull's School with a view to building on the tradition of high educational standards which had been established over nearly five decades.
Robin Hull takes a personal interest in all aspects of the school and maintains close contact with teachers and students. As a curator of the International Aldous Huxley Society he is actively involved in the study of literature and philosophy. He is actively involved in a number of national and international bodies, serving as a Board Member for the Swiss Alpine Secondary School Davos and as President of the Swiss Dyslexia Association.
He is married to Ieva Hull, herself a dedicated teacher of English and an accomplished linguist. Robin and Ieva Hull live in the Zürich Highlands with their five children.
